I improved the performance in patch 0.4.5
I released some performance updates in 0.4.5, which should improve performance a good amount.
Can you look in the host-file (C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\host), and remove any reference to api.crashtastic.com , and try logging in again?

What platform are you running on? Windows or Mac?
Hi Pam,
I sent you an email about this, but the login field has a limited number of characters it shows. So you just need to click on the Username box and hit delete a bunch of times, you will start to see characters of your email.
