The problem persists.  New records still aren't showing up.  The record viewer scrolls to the right place, but my record isn't there.
I think he's talking about colour/texture swaps akin to Minecraft texture packs.  Personally I think switching the grid texture out for almost anything else would detract from the clean aesthetic and would be unlikely to be as effective.

Being able to paint the pieces of the vehicle would be nice, but I'd imagine you've got other things to work on atm.
Watch your replay slowly to spot where the vehicle buckles right before it flips/crashes.  I hold a record time of 2.90 seconds on the S-Bend, it just hasn't shown up in the listings because of what seems like a bug.  This is part of the entire challenge of the game.  Also try a wider wheelbase as you've got the robot quite high there and as a result the centre of gravity is above the wheels.

The lighting quality is changed by the existing selector in the options.  It uses a less refined SSAO and disables shadows as you turn it down.

I should add that if I filter by part count, the record shows up.

This is an odd bug.
It's been a day now and I hold first-place records on both U-Turn and S-Bend... or rather I would if the leaderboards worked.

I know they're still up because I see other peoples' records going up and changing... what's going on!
I got a message saying GC failed after about half an hour of gameplay.
G?
Similarly I can't type the letter T in vehicle names, any attempt to do so lands me back in the vehicle editor.
Translation:
"I decided to record a video after the passage of urovnya.Samoe high resolution. Flew an error and the game closed.

I'm yet to have any success exporting a video of a replay.  It says "encoding frame 1 of -1" and never progresses or lets me cancel.  It keeps running, I can rotate the camera, but the only way to stop it is to close the game.
