Stuck on downloading

When I launch the game, it says it is stuck on downloading new files, and thats it.

Accroding to the log, it happens here:

"[14:19:38] Downloading file: crashtastic_client_Data/Managed/Google.GData.YouTube.dll

[14:19:38] Writing file."

I am on windows 8, if that could be a problem. I have also tried all of the compatibility modes and admin rights.

i had this problem. a temp fix is closing and restarting the game. it kept all old data and got back to work much faster. for more info i have a nice win 7 desktop. it is not an internet prob since it did this at the "remove old files" stage also.
