Had 100% the exact same problem. Update your graphics card drivers and turn up the graphics quality in the settings menu of Crashtastic. It fixed the issue for me.

I had the same problem took me a while to figure it out. For anyone else struggling with using braces... the braces are flat so to get the camera angle you want, attach them to to the side of the cube the camera is looking at.
